P & R Kashani Moonbeam

2007 Chestnut Filly
by Kashani (TB), o/o P & R Hopes Moonbeam; E.M.H. 15.2H

Suited to a variety if Disciplines

Kashy is a very well put together filly from some of the best Appaloosa and Thoroughbred bloodlines available. She will mature a very solid girl of approximately 15.2H. She has been well handled, having been trucked, floated, feet done and started under saddle. She is at present enjoying time under the saddle with gentle farm hacking and I’m told nothing fazes her. She is proving to be eager to please and willing. The Thoroughbred/Appaloosa cross has proven over the years to be a great competition mount, excelling in many areas such as Polo, Polo Crosse, Jumping, Eventing, Dressage, Western Pleasure and Reining.

Thoroughbred Bloodlines

Kashy is by the well known Bay Thoroughbred stallion Kashani who is known to produce a higher percentage of better than average racehorses. On the stud in which he stands he is known as “The Upgrader”. Statistics taken from the 2009 Register of Thoroughbred Stallions shows Kashani has sired 231 Winners of 673 Races and 12 Stakes Winners. Kashani is by the great DANZIG (Multi-Champion Sire), and sire of 194 Stakes Winners, who in turn is also sired by the great Champion “NORTHERN DANCER”. BOLD RULER sire of the Triple Crown Winner SECRETARIAT is also part of Kashani’s pedigree.

Appaloosa Bloodlines

Kashy is out of the well built mare P & R Hopes Moonbeam. Moony was served by Kashani when she sadly lost her foal one year, and so she raised a thoroughbred foal, rather than not have ababy at all. Moony has proven to be a good mother, and has passed on her wonderful people oriented Appaloosa traits to her filly. Moony is by the well reknown “DUSTI BREEZE” who was a medallion winner in the USA, before being imported to New Zealand. Dusti was dominant for the Appaloosa gene and so every foal he sired was Appaloosa, regardless of the breed of the mare he served. Dusti always passed on his generous muscling and good bone to his progeny. One of his strengths was his generous hindquarter so he was often photographed from behind, to show it off. Moony is out of the very tall mare “Indian Hills Whispering Hope”. This mare was a big framed athletic mare suited to English disciplines. Her sire was the first Appaloosa imported to New Zealand called “Nevada Sundancer who was by the loud leopard sire “Nevada Devil Dancer”, who was imported into Australia.
